The special requirements of special purpose doors and windows may need a custom engineered model to meet your performance demands. With Krieger's years of experience and knowledge, our engineering department can create a product to meet your specifications.
Krieger's blast and pressure doors are used in commercial, government (UFC, ATFP or others), and industrial (PIP) installations to protect personnel and property from explosions and explosion borne missiles.
Each door is engineered to the desired resistance level and manufactured to the size, style, and finish requested.
Pre-engineered available in:
100 PSF, 1.0 PSI, 2.0 PSI, 3.0 PSI

Swing door hardware includes modified builders' hardware or Krieger manufactured locks and hinges as required by blast rating.
Slide door hardware includes low friction trucks and rollers, low voltage control circuitry for electrical operators, and a variety of operator actuation devices.
Doors can be fitted with a multi-point lock or SAT device and continuous hinging systems for added protection.
Tornado and Hurricane Doors
Krieger offers doors designed to meet the ICC 500 for tornado and hurricane safe rooms. The blast and pressure doors are designed to resist the wind speeds designated in ASCE 7 and the higher wind speeds designated in the ICC 500. The doors are also ADA Compliant.
Note: FEMA does not certify products, but doors which have passed ICC 500 testing meet or exceed FEMA P-361 safe room criteria.
Formed, heavy gauge, steel face sheets constructed around a custom engineered, steel rib core with interior armor plate as required to protect against specified blast level.
KriegerBlast security doors, blast doors and windows can be manufactured for multiple performance requirements including acoustical, bullet resistance, thermal protection, radio frequency shielding or any combination thereof.
Tested and certified acoustical glass or fire rated glass and glazing materials are available.
