High-Security ASTM F476 & Bullet 3
Krieger’s industry-leading high-security door with a bullet rating is tested to ASTM F476-14, the Standard Test Methods for Security of Swinging Door Assemblies.
The added UL 752 Level 3 bullet rating means the
door can stop 3-shot clusters from a handgun
such as a .44 Magnum.

Details
Tests and Certifications
- Complete assembly was successfully tested to Grade 40 criteria per ASTM F476-14.
- Comes standard with a UL 752 Level 3 bullet rating, which can withstand 3 impacts of .44 Magnum ammo (240 grain) shot at a minimum velocity of 1350 FPS.
Door and Frame Construction
- Base-level frame construction is ASTM A1008 cold rolled steel, engineered for maximum stability under forced entry attacks.
- Frame was tested as a 2-piece “slip-in” configuration, ideal for existing wall construction.
- Option for ½" thick threshold is available.
- Base-level 1 ¾" thick door configuration comes with 16-gauge door skins and a new core design that maximizes structural strength while reducing costs for end users.
Door Sizes
- Krieger can design and manufacture security doors in standard and custom sizes.
- Oversized doors are available for accommodating extra-large items like machinery, stage props, or athletic equipment; or if acoustical seals for HVAC cooling or simply blocking out noise is required.
Fire Labels and Positive Pressure
- Up to 3 Hours:
UL 10C, UBC 7-2, UBC 7-4 250º, 450º, 650º temperature rise, up to 3 hours UL 10C - Smoke Labels: Up to 20 minutes
Hardware
- Tested with a Schlage L-Series mortise lock, allowing the assembly to be paired with a wide range of standard commercial building hardware.
- Comes with Krieger’s ADA-complaint HC30 Cam Lift Hinges with or without optional security pins.
Security
- Reverse-handed assemblies are recommended for maximum security.

- Krieger’s custom finish options include prime painted, wood veneer, stainless steel, specialty finishes, and more—all perfectly matched to complement your project.
Door Handing
Reverse handing is required on high-security models to ensure the door conforms to the standard.
- Double doors must have a removable mullion.
- If your project requires regular handing, contact us to discuss your options, as regular handing will not achieve
the desired rating.
