Lied Center for Performing Arts

The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska needed an assembly to
frame the sides of the inner proscenium opening and conceal the offstage wings from the audience. Krieger produced 30-foot-high sliding tormentors to absorb sound and allow for obstacle-free
transporting of large equipment on and off the stage.

30-Foot-High Sliding Tormentors

These assemblies are not technically
doors, rather tormentors. When closed they absorb sound and prevent echos.

Tormentors are used to frame the sides of
the inner proscenium opening and conceal offstage wings from the audience.

Once opened, the area is obstacle-free
space allowing for the transporting of large equipment on and off the stage.
