San Francisco Conservatory of Music
When the SF Conservatory of Music relocated to its new home at 50 Oak Street, the building’s façade
and interior needed renovation that combined restoration of historic features and new construction. The new $80 million, 72,987 square foot facility doubled the Conservatory’s original size and features Krieger doors and windows used for the facility’s state-of-the-art performance halls, music labs and studios, classrooms, practice rooms, music library, administrative offices, and more.
Krieger manufactured
27 acoustical doors and frames ranging from STC 49-53.
SF Conservatory of
Music has 44 studios,
14 classrooms, and
33 practice rooms.
Originally built in 1914 as a ballroom the historical 50-foot by 70-foot plaster ballroom ceiling has been miraculously preserved.
A total of 59 windows, rated STC 52 with clear laminated glazing, were manufactured for the project.
