National Audio-Visual Conservation Center

Now operated by the Library of Congress, this former Cold War bunker has been transformed
into a state-of-the-art archive of the largest movie and music collection in the world. Krieger
manufactured 124 interior blast-resistant doors for the Nitrate Vault, which houses
highly flammable and explosive cellulose nitrate film.

The blast-resistant doors feature a 1.0 PSI rating,
a 3-hour fire rating,
and prime paint.

All 124 Krieger blast doors have the same specifications and were custom designed to fit into existing openings, requiring precision measurements.
