LEED Information
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a government sponsored rating system developed by the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) in 1998. Since then LEED has been evolving to provide a high standard for environmental sustainability.
No products may be classified as LEED certified. LEED is only intended to accredit an entire building or project. Our products, however, may help you earn credits for your project to become LEED certified.

Post-consumer material
is defined as waste material generated by households or by commercial, industrial and institutional facilities in their role as end-users of the product, which can no longer be used for its intended purpose.
Pre-consumer material
is defined as material diverted from the waste stream during the manufacturing process. Excluded is reutilization of materials such as rework, regrind or scrap generated in a process and capable of being reclaimed within the same process that generated it.

Krieger purchases all of it wood crating materials from The Home Depot, who sells Forrest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified lumber. The wood veneers come from Veneers Products. They encourage the use of FSC certified wood and do have options that are rapidly renewable or locally grown.
